SNAPPI-DB Services

The SNAPPI services allow programmatic access to the SNAPPI-DB using simple URL based queries.

Queries are made using either qualified or unqualified IDs. A qualified ID is a colon separated value consisting of a label (such as PDB, CATH, SCOP, PFAM) followed by a ':' and ending with an identifier taken from the database specified by the qualifier.

All services also take an optional html parameter which indicates that an HTML table with embedded links should be returned rather than a flat tab separated file.

Service 1: Retrieve all interactions involving a domain or observed within a particular structure:

Service 2: Retrieve atom-atom interactions that form an interface:

This service can be queried in two ways:
  1. Retrieve atoms for a specific interface using its SNAPPI interface identifier:

Retrieve atoms for a specific interface:

Interface ID (bare 9 digit number from interfaceId in response from service 1):

  2. Retrieve atoms for interfaces involving one or two specific qualified entities:
      Service Caveat
Because the number of atom-atom pairs that may be reported for an individual interface can be very large, results from the two parameter form of this query will be truncated to report the atoms involved in just the first three interfaces that are found.

    InteractorB qualified ID (optional):

A similar REST style service has been created by Bernd Brandt to retrieve mappings between SEQRES and PDB residue numbering. Please see the coordmap service documentation for more information.
