Index of /downloads/alscript/old_versions/dos
The file alscript.zip contains alscript sources (identical to the
sources in alscript.2.0.tar.gz) and binaries compiled using the
WATCOM DOS compiler. The programs will run on a 386 or better PC
under DOS and probably in a DOS window under Windows.
If you have problems running under Windows, then try reducing the
MAX_SEQ_LEN and MAX_NSEQ values - this may help. If all else fails
revert to DOS, or buy some more memory for your computer...
NOTE: The programs here will not work on a 286 PC.
To Install:
1. Create a directory on your hard disk called alscript.
(e.g. mkdir alscript)
2. Use pkunzip to unpack the .zip file.
(e.g. pkunzip -d alscript.zip )
3. Either add the files in alscript\bin\dos to your path, or
copy them to somewhere on your path.
Typing alscript should run theprogram.
Please see the instructions in the file doc\alscript.tex - this may
be printed on a PostScript printer as the file doc\alscript.ps
Note: To print or view the output of alscript I recommend you obtain
the programs "ghostscript" and "ghostview". These should be available
on an ftp site near you.
