Eight - strands are predicted for the phosphatase domain. These are
at 54-58, 83-86, 94-98, 132-135, 184-187, 270-274, 316-322, 325-329. A surface
- strand with one face exposed to solvent often exhibits a pattern
of alternate conserved hydrophobic and hydrophilic residues. Such
patterns are seen for strand 54-58 where 54, and 56 are conserved
hydrophobic; strand 94-98 where hydrophilic residues are conserved at 94, 96
and 98; and 270-274 with conserved hydrophobics at 270, 272, and 274.
Short conserved runs of hydrophobic residues are indicative of buried
- strands. This pattern is shown for the predicted strands at
83-86, 132-135 and 184-187. A further three possible
- strands are
described under Ambiguous predictions below.
