oops. it should be documented somewhere - will get on that asap.

Clicking and dragging the middle mouse button in the alignment view will 
scale the font in the direction dragged (up/down scales height, 
left/right scales width).

You might also want to edit the default font settings in your 
preferences to avoid rescaling the display each time.
