 The EMBL-EBI manages databases of biological data including nucleic acid and protein sequences and macromolecular structures. The Institute is a European centre for research and development in bioinformatics.  If you are new to the field, please see our introduction to bioinformatics.
The EBI is organised under three Programmes: Service Research and Industry . All three programmes are active in bioinformatics research.
