Further Development Approaches

Adding new users

Run /homes/www-refine/SSPF_TO1/TarO2pt0/TarO2_CVS/www-refine/TarO2_CVS/DB/create_new_user.pl

Use pwgen utility to generate the password. Add insert statements produced by create_new_user.pl to targpipe.sql from the same directory. It is needed to recreate a database with users in case of a failure. The user name convention: use a user firstname plus last initial. Group display name used to create a group. If users belong to the same group use the same name. Often this name will be a person superviser name. BCC Geoff the email for the user with user credentials.

Status of TARO

TARO is supported and maintained but further development is postponed due to a number of factors listed in the further development approches section, and a low number of users using the service. Some enhancements is likely to be implemented later. The list of ideas for implementation can be found in further developement approaches section and in this document written by Ian.

Authors contribution: This documentation has been developed by Peter Troshin and Ian Overton. Ian has made a main contribution into File and Directory structure section of this document. The rest of this document was mainly developed by Peter.
