Fasta format

This format consists of one header line followed by lines of sequence data.

The header line must begin with a ">" symbol, which is immediately followed by an identifier for the sequence and then optionally, a description. The remaining lines contain the sequence.

NoD accepts protein sequences, which must be formatted using 1-letter amino acid codes. Any non-standard amino acids and non-letter characters (including spaces) are removed from the sequence. NoD currently only accepts one protein at a time.
